  • Gave lectures on fieldwork in folklore in a training course entitled “Field Collection of Folklore Material” hosted by the A.G.S. Folklore Centre between 14 Dec. 1985 and 30 January 1986. The course was attended by thirty six trainees from the Arab Gulf States 


  • Founded (with three professors) the Department of Cultural Studies, Hajj Research Centre, King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 1982.
